Swinging against ALS in Pula
The Battle of Stars 2024 brings Nadal, Guardiola and other stars to Mallorca for a charity golf tournament against ALS and multiple sclerosis.
Golf for a cause
The Battle of Stars is far more than a competition: it raises funds to fight ALS and multiple sclerosis. Over two days, amateur golfers share the course with stars from sport and entertainment.
The players
Participants included Rafa Nadal, Pep Guardiola, Marcos Alonso, Pepe Reina, Feliciano López and Antonio Orozco, alongside last year’s winner David Otero, Gabriel Batistuta, Bernd Schuster and Javier Clemente. Juan Carlos Unzué, the former footballer who has become a leading voice in the fight against ALS, also attended.
A world-class venue
Pula Golf Resort hosted the European Tour’s Mallorca Classic for seven years. Redesigned by José María Olazábal between 2004 and 2006, it has been nominated at the World Golf Awards as Spain’s and Europe’s best golf course.
The tournament was supported by Golf East Mallorca, Fundación Mallorca Turismo, Cap Vermell Grand Hotel, Banco Santander and Inmobiliaria Sa Coma.
