Professional, honest and efficient

Visiting Rainer Alcón, owner of Real Estate Agency Sa Coma

He is an ambitious golfer, artist, but above all an estate agent: Rainer Alcón. His company, Inmobiliaria Sa Coma, was founded in 1988, at that time by his mother Christine Günther, who became self-employed after years as an employee and after divorcing her husband. Her son joined her just a few years later and, from 1997, ran a construction company in parallel and also with his mother for ten years, at times employing up to 80 people. "We built houses and then my mother sold them." A perfect team.

Customer service above all

What applies then as now to his real estate company, which operates primarily on the east coast, for example from Colònia Sant Pere to Cala d'Or: complete customer service.

This means that as a real estate buyer, but also as a seller, you receive all-round support.

This starts with professional and personal advice. Rainer Alcón himself speaks five languages fluently (Spanish, Mallorcan, German, English, Italian) and concerns all commercial, legal and notarial matters.

Professional photos and videos are taken, multilingual offers are written, there are virtual tours and much more.

"Over the years we have gained a large number of clients who we treat with respect, who trust us and appreciate the transparency and clarity of our work."

At the same time, they don't stop there: Further training is regularly on the agenda for him and his loyal team of many years. "You can never know enough," says Rainer Alcón.

A tip he gives to sellers of real estate who naturally have a strong emotional attachment to their still-home: "When we then talk about the desired price, it often happens that you as a seller overestimate your real estate, simply because you know it well and like it. That's what we estate agents call the emotional value, but you shouldn't confuse this value with the actual achievable price."

Together we are stronger

This also applies in particular to the business processes of Inmobiliaria Sa Coma, because Alcón is a member of the MLS Ágora association, which operates across Spain and has around 420 brokers.

Anyone who contacts Alcón with their wishes for an apartment or house and does not find anything suitable in their own portfolio also sends the request to the other members of the association in the customer's search region. There are currently 22 real estate agencies in Mallorca.

Of course, this does not result in any additional costs for the customer.

“We settle this among ourselves and split the commission, but the price for the customer remains the same.

We are all officially registered and certified brokers, I am also a home appraiser and forensic appraiser. This guarantees seriousness.”

But that's not all: "We reputable estate agents want to do everything we can to distinguish ourselves from the black sheep of our industry. That's why we are working on the creation of a real estate agent register for the Balearic Islands, where all persons involved in the brokerage, consulting and management of real estate will be registered, but who must also prove this professionally beforehand. This is an important step to avoid unfair competition."

Art & Golf

In all this, his private life and hobbies are not forgotten and are highly valued: this year, for example, he can celebrate his silver wedding anniversary with his wife. Congratulations! Furthermore, he is an artist, just like his father was, and he is an ambitious golf fan.

"You can make appointments with me for meetings or viewings almost every day and at all times, but with one exception: Friday, 2.30 pm. Then I treat myself to a game of golf with friends. These quality times I spend with art or playing golf have to be, it's balm for the soul. When you work as hard and as much as I do, you need this kind of compensation," says Rainer Alcón.

The art of his father Juan Alcón Agustin (died 2012) is very present in the rooms of the real estate company, although there are also many admirers and collectors. Even the former King Juan Carlos is in possession of an Alcón painting. Rainer Alcón inherited the artistic gene from his father.

"Art is my great passion, which I live out in the form of sculptures."

For example, he works a lot with epoxy resin, in which he embeds wood or even leaves or fills gaps with it, thus conjuring up very attractive lamps through integrated LED lights. So far, however, only in private:

"Maybe one day I'll start selling my pieces, but for now I only make them for us and our friends."
